Occasionally it’s good to take a a break from your usual poker grinding and enjoy playing some other relaxing casino games. Many poker players have already tried out casino slots and another great choice is a more traditional single player video poker. One of the most popular video poker games is Jacks or Better which can now be played with a smartphone & tablet on EuroGrand casino mobile!

EuroGrand Jacks or Better

In Jacks or Better players will find a fun and exciting video poker where the payout starts on a pair of jacks or higher. The game is a one draw poker and you have two chances of getting your winning hand, one at the start and the second one after you have swapped the cards you choose. Jacks or Better offers two doubling options in double up and half double, good for those gambling minded who want to take risk, but more casual gamers can of course opt to collect their winnings without any doubling.

PokerStars Mobile and Switch Poker Android Tablet

Part #2: PokerStars Mobile Changes the Game

It was about to happen sooner or later and two years after PokerStars had bought mobile gaming firm Cecure Gaming they finally launched PokerStars Mobile in late 2011. The world’s largest online poker site had been keeping a close eye on the development of mobile poker and now they were ready to bring it to the next level.

Until then most mobile poker apps had been ripped down versions of the desktop client’s without tournaments or multi-tabling. Switch Poker was an exception of this and their multi-tabling web app supported playing up to 4 tables simultaneously on an Android Tablet. Switch Poker had been the first one to introduce multi-tabling poker for mobile but they were too missing sit n’ go’s and tournaments amongst many other features normally found in the desktop software.

History of Mobile Poker

History of Mobile Poker: Switch Poker, Full Tilt Rush Poker Mobile, Bwin iPhone Poker

Part #1 First Real Money Mobile Poker Apps

The history of real money mobile poker dates all the way back to 2006. The pioneers of mobile poker were the notorious Ultimatebet and Pokerroom. Back then poker could be played on Java supporting cell phones and the apps had very limited features with low detailed graphics. First generation poker apps also often suffered from connection problems as the mobile networks hadn’t yet advanced enough to support real-time gaming. Other online poker sites that expanded for mobile in the following years were Cake Poker (the first real money windows mobile app), RedKings and Bwin.

Because the quality and playing experience with these apps were still lacking they didn’t became a huge hit amongst players. The cell phone technology and the wireless mobile networks needed to progress and when they did the time was finally right for mobile poker. It was time for the modern smartphone era.

Review

Ongame network was the first one to develop real money poker app for mobile but at first it was only made available by Bwin. Now RedKings is hopping on board with their recently launched Android Poker App and iOS apps will soon follow.

RedKings Android Poker app is essentially the same as the Bwin one that we have reviewed in detail before. The app is very basic with only Texas Hold’em cash games available at the moment. RedKings Android supports No Limit, Pot Limit and Fixed Limit cash games up to $2/$4. The good news is that RedKings is planning on adding sit n’ gos and multi-table tournaments later on. There is no word on multi-tabling support yet, but one could imagine that it’s in the development at least for the Android Tablet and iPad versions.

Mobile Poker Playing Tips

October 10, 2011 :: Posted by - fastpoker :: Category - Articles, Mobile Poker

There are couple of things you should consider when starting to play poker with your smartphone or tabloid. By keeping these next couple tips in mind you’re guaranteed to get the best out of your mobile poker experience.

1. Good Connection

Make sure that you have a fast and stable connection. No one likes those disconnections in the middle of your hand and even less when you’re playing a pot for real money. You can test out the connection at the play money games before you hit the real money cash tables. Recommended is a minimum 3G connection and if you have access to WiFi wireless connection, then even better. The rules for the disconnections are the same as playing from a pc – there will be no refunds if you get disconnected and loose the hand.

When disconnected you usually have 30sec-1min to reconnect to the table. After the time is up, your hand will check/fold and if you haven’t reconnected before the next hand starts, you will automatically sit out.
